Yeah, you read that right. I'm a writing winner! With 51,422, I've "won National Novel Writing Month 2009! Am I excited? You betcha! Am I finished with the story itself? Not quite . . . but I'm working on it! I will not abandon my plot simply because I achieved a certain word count. Wouldn't that just make all the hours and thought and effort I put into the first 50,000 words a waste? I think so, and so I'm pushing on with my big dream. I actually like this novel (knock on wood), and I want to see how it ends. (Um, is it a bad thing that I don't know that yet?)
After I finish my novel, though, and get to re-writing, I have another big dream realization on the horizon. What could this brave new world of a challenge be? Two words: half marathon.
Let the adventure begin!
