Weekend Reading: MORE Books I Think You Should Read

Yesterday I posted a few books that I'm loving that I think you should check out, too.  I just realized that a) those books are all non-fiction self-help books, and b) there are loads of great fiction books I think you should read.  So . . . here are some of my recent favorites.  I picked these because they are either newer or do not get as much publicity as I think they deserve.

The Knife of Never Letting Go (and the rest of the trilogy) by Patrick Ness

The Bird Sisters by Rebecca Rasmussen (Rebecca makes a lovely Twitter friend, too!)

The Darkangel by Meredith Ann Pierce

Okay, now I am done with the very, very shameless plugging of some very, very awesome books.  Enjoy, friends, and happy weekend!

What are your favorite fiction books?

  1. hellooooo..

yes pound shop is $1..dollar store

though 1 dollar is actually more than 1 pound...

    1 pound is around 1 dollar 60....

and our stores sell rubbish compared to your dollar stores.

  2. Haha thanks for clearing that up!

  3. Oh, wow, I could get down with book talk.

I will be keeping this unread until I can order them from the library.

Wally Lamb, Julia Glass, <---Julia Glass! and I am currently on my second novel by ris Cleaves who wrote Beautiful Bee. Incendiary is rocking my world now, too.

If you need more recs, let me know.

    I'm on FB
I mean, we could be friends! *ahem* just saying.

  4. Consider yourself friended! :)

  5. These look great! Going to check them out :)

  6. Yay! I'd love to know what you think if you read any. :D

  7. Hello hi :)

I just stumbled by your blog and was scrolling through your posts doing a quick explore when I saw this. I LOVED The Dark Angel. I read it from the library when I was younger, but couldn't find it anywhere for years (I think it was out of print over here), and then found the full trilogy reprinted a few years ago. It's brilliant!

Also, have you read Sabrina Ward Harrison's books? Your post before this one made me think of those.

Off to explore a wee bit more now...:)

  8. Thanks for visiting me! I really liked The Dark Angel, although I didn't think the rest of the trilogy matched up in quality. They were still good, though! I randomly discovered them while wandering through the library last year. I'm so glad I found them!

    I recently discovered Sabrina Ward Harrison's books . . . I think I'm going to have to get my hands on one . . . ! :)
