"He has sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted…To comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion -- to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair."

~ Isaiah 61:1b-3

"Do not be afraid or terrified . . . for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

~ Deuteronomy 31:6

"Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go.”

~ Joshua 1:9

"Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

~ Hebrews 4:16

"'Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.'"

~ Matthew 5:4

"Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him.  Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.  My salvation and my honor depend on God; he is my mighty rock, my refuge.  Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge."

~ Psalm 62:5-8

  1. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. -Psalm 37:4

  2. Beth, I've been reading all your posts about Eve and your loss, and I wish I could fly to Montana and enfold you in an embrace that would strengthen and lift you to a safe place above all this. I can't, but you've already been abiding in the strongest, most sure Embrace there is. And He promises to walk with us through the valley of the shadow of death. Your posts show you know that. Keep posting, sister. Keep hoping, keep feeling, keep breathing. If I can help in any way at all, please email and let me know.

  3. Will He? Because honestly...Eve was the desire of my heart, and she's gone. I think He WILL give me what I need, but not what I want. Ugh quotes like this are why I'm having a hard time getting in the Word lately...but thank you for sharing it anyway. xoxo

  4. Beth, I totally hear what you are saying. What I try to ask myself is, "Do I really KNOW the desire of my heart? My TRUE heart? My God-In-Me heart? Do I know my purpose? it covered by what I think I want, or what I think is best?" When we don't know how to pray...the Holy Spirit intercedes. I think this is the same concept. We think we know the desire of our heart. His plan and purpose is the true desire of our heart...when we pray for that, He will show us the way.

I cannot invalidate your feelings Beth. Please do not take this in a way that I think you should feel anything less or different than what you do, I love you!

  5. [...] In the face of God’s extreme, audacious willingness to let His son endure perhaps the worst end imaginable, how can I say no to Him?  How can I not trust Him?  How can I not believe everything that He has promised? [...]
